Mrs. Love Epting
Funeral services for Mrs. Love Epting, 84, were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 30, 1993, from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Forest. Rev. Sonny Adkins officiated. Interment was made in the Eastern Cemetery in Forest.
Mrs. Epting passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 1993, at Palm Garden Nursing Home in Gainesville, FL following an extended illness. Formerly from Conehatta, MS to Forest, MS in 1930, she had lived in Gainesville, FL since 1980. Mrs. Epting attended Conehatta High School and then attended Clarke College. She was a member of the Lydia Sunday School and the Forest B&PW. She spent most all of her life working in the Scott County Courthouse with the Chancery Clerk's office; Chief Officer with the Sheriff's & Tax Assessor's office. She was the first woman ever elected to a county office in Scott County, that being Circuit Clerk where she served two terms from 1968-1976. She also worked briefly as a bookkeeper with Calhoun Seed and Feed and Davis Buick Co. Mrs. Epting was a member of the Forest Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Franz Epting, Professor of Psychology at University of Florida, of Gainesville, FL.
Pallbearers were Lindsey Shoemaker, Jerry Harmon, Glenn Dennis, Charles Leach, Bobby Joe Johnson, and Rev. Tim Fanguy.
Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest was in charge of the arrangements.
