James Peebles

James Norman Peebles Sr. of Veneta, OR, was born April 8, 1940, in Greenwood, South Carolina, to James and Louise Peebles.
He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1958. He married Dixie Lee Eby in 1961. He retired from the Oregon State Department of Corrections in the 1980's.
Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with his friends and family. He did gardening, woodworking, and loved watching football and NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife Dixie Peebles; two daughters, Teresa Wojtowicz of Eugene and Mary Towery of Veneta; one son, James Peebles Jr. of Salem; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, May 23, from 2-5 p.m. at Lane Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Friday, May 24, at 2 p.m. at Lane Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lane Memorial Funeral Home.
