Funeral services for Ms. Laurie Balentine Scott, age 50, will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 10:00 AM in Central Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Everett officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.
Visitation will begin Monday at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Ms. Scott was born March 1, 1963 in Springhill to Willard Burnard and Martha Jo Bishop Balentine and passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 in Shreveport, LA. She was a native of Springhill, had lived in Shreveport since 1983 until her return to Springhill in 2009. Ms. Scott was a member of Central Baptist Church, was a 1981 Graduate of Springhill High School and received her LPN at Minden Vo-Tech. She was a loving, kind, caring person and it carried over into her nursing career at Doctors Hospital where she gave 20 years of service.
She is survived by her sons, Brian Scott and wife, Geneva of Plain Dealing, LA; Steven Scott and wife, Laura of New Iberia, LA; mother, Martha Jo Balentine; sisters, Paula B. Hinsch and husband, Scott of Greenwood, AR, Cynda B. Dennis and husband, Roger of Dover, AR; grandchildren, Cheyenne and Kingsley; nephews, Kyle and Andrew Hinsch and many other extended family and loved ones.
Ms. Scott was preceded in death by her father in 2010.
Honoring her as pallbearers will be Robert Colley, Bill Sale, Terry Balentine, Garry Balentine, Horace Milliken and Wayne McMahen.
