Warren was born May 29, 1932, to Elva and Garnet Anderson in Williamstown, W.Va.

Warren, of Marietta, left peacefully in his sleep on Saturday morning, May 18, 2013.

Warren married Dottie Davis on Nov. 18, 1972.

In addition to his wife, Warren is survived by five sons, one daughter and a brother, Dan Anderson (Vicki), Marietta, Doug Anderson (Kim), Salvisa, Ky., Darrell Anderson (Melinda), Lowell, Jon Anderson, Lowell, Valerie Anderson Grigg, El Paso, Texas, Adam Anderson, Marietta, and brother, Franklin Anderson of Williamstown. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Ronald; his brother, Arthur; and sister, Mary Ellen Merrow.

Warren served in the U.S. Army in Germany as a surveyor from 1952-1954. He is a life member of VFW Post 5108, and enjoyed spending time with friends at the post canteen. During the late 1950s and early 1960s, Warren's pitching in area fast pitch softball leagues became legendary. He has the credit of pitching at least one "no-hitter." Warren enjoyed camping and fishing on the Cranberry River in West Virginia with his children. Warren retired from DuPont Washington Works in March of 1993, where he worked as a mechanic. Warren and Dottie enjoyed vacation cruises. Four of Warren's favorites were Jamaica, through the Panama Canal, to Alaska, and cruising from Tahiti to Hawaii.

Warren will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at a time to be announced at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home, Marietta, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Willliamstown. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, with family present from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
