She was born on October 1, 1971, in San Augustine, to Bertha West and James West. She was an administrative assistance for Total Safety.

Survivors include her significant other, David Elliott; father, Athan Gustafson of Warren; grandchildren, Kayden and Kyler; siblings, James Burl West, Jr. and his wife, Shawna, of Spurger; Pamela Knighten and her husband, Tracy, of Warren; Sandra Eason and her husband, David, of Silsbee; Donna West of Warren; Dewayne West and his wife, Raechelle, of Silsbee; Nancy Gustafson of Call; and Penny Gore and her husband, Truman, of Fred; aunts, Audrey Parrish, Joyce Cherry, and Betty Nash; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of Kimmie's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Fred Pentecostal Church, Highway 92 and CR 4700, Fred. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the church, with burial to follow at Fred Community Cemetery, Fred.
