Oct. 9, 1934-Feb. 22, 2009 Russell W. Caldwell, 74, 206 E. Grandview Ave., Redkey, died Sunday at Bluffton Regional Medical Center in Bluffton. Born in Farmers, Ky., to John B. and Hazel (Stansbury) Caldwell, he was preceded in death by his wife Sharon K. (Roberts) Caldwell. A veteran of the United States Navy, he had worked at Franklin Electric in Bluffton. Survivors include a daughter, Rena K. Caldwell, Portland; three sons; Rusty A. Caldwell, Columbus, Rex L. Caldwell, Redkey, and Richard L. Caldwell, Portland; three sisters, Virginia Wappes, Dunkirk, Sharon Goodpasture and Mrs. Russell (Carol) Taylor, both of Cookeville, Tenn.; two brothers, Ted Caldwell, McAndrews, Ky., and David Caldwell, Poneto; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services are Thursday at 11 a.m. at MJS Mortuaries Redkey Chapel with Pastor Joe Hines officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Redkey. Visitation is Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
