NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Funeral Services for Mr. Wilken H. Clark, 94, who entered into rest January 17, 2015 will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Rev. James D. Dennis, Jr. and Dr. T. Joseph Lusk officiating.
Interment in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Originally from Keystone, West Virginia, Mr. Clark made his home in the North Augusta area since 1962. He was a longstanding and supportive member of Grace United Methodist Church. Mr. Clark was broadly knowledgeable, and understood the value of education. He met his late wife, Frankie, in business school, where their handwritings soon became indistinguishable.
Mr. Clark served with valor in Europe during WWII, and attended occasional reunions but rarely spoke of war.
He enjoyed a successful business career, retiring from Columbia Nitrogen in 1985. Mr. Clark was blessed with a wonderful, if wry, sense of humor. He was a gentleman of strength, integrity, and resilience, to be remembered for what he said - and for what he left unsaid. Mr. Clark was steadfast in all he held dear - his family, his religious faith, allegiance to his country, and his principles and beliefs.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, David and Anne Clark of Reston, VA; two nephews, C.R. Brown, Jr., (Elaine), Allen, TX, Clark E. Brown (Barry), Lexington, VA; one niece, Brenda Brown Meadows (C.Q.), Ashland, VA.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 4 until 6.
Posey Funeral Directors of North Augusta in charge of arrangements.
