Faye Blair, 86, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away Saturday, May 2013, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.

Faye June Springer, born June 25, 1926, in Lake City, Iowa, was the daughter of Elmer and Ethel(Johnson)Springer. Faye graduated in 1944 from Rinard(Iowa)High School. In the fall, she attended Iowa State Teachers' College in Cedar Falls where she pledged Pi Phi Omega sorority. She then transferred in 1945 to Iowa Methodist School of Nursing from which she earned her Bachelor's as a Registered Nurse.

On January 3, 1950, Faye was united in marriage to Ward William Blair at the Lake City Pressbyterian Church. Their children are Kimbal and Marc.

The couple lived and farmed west of Yetter until Ward retired from farming in 1979. In 1983, they moved to Lake View and in 1996 moved to Ogden. Faye worked as a registered nurse at McVay Hospital in Lake City for a short time and then joined Dr. Paul Ferguson as an OB-GYN, Pediatric, and Family Practicd RN at McCrary-Rost Clinic in Lake City for over 28 years. In her last several years at the clinic, Faye served as the Director of Nursing.

Faye was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ogden where she was active in Bible study, Faith Unit Women's Group, and "Hearts & Hands" quilters. She also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, traveling, and playing bridge. Kim tried to win her over to the Green Bay Packers, but Marc is an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, so she decieded it would probably be good to remain neutral.

Her parents and husband, Ward, preceded her in death. Among survivors are daughter, Kimbal(Lee)McCollum of St. Cloud, Wisconsin; son, Marc(Becky)Blair of Ogden, Iowa; four grandchildren, Eryn McCollum Shaha(Josh), Joshua McCollum, Kathryn Blair, and Jeffrey Blair, and great granddaughter, Emma Miller.

Faye's wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 pm Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ogden with Rev. Gordon Lundgberg officiating;. Visitation is at 1 pm prior to the church service, and burial follows the Celebration
Service at Lake City Cemetery in Lake City, Iowa.
Memorials may be left to Iowa Hospice, Panora office: Panora, IA.
