Damon Lee Sheets, 39, of Wellsville, passed away unexpectedly at 7:00 P.M., Monday, February 27, 2012 at his home. Visitation was held from 5:00-7:00 P.M., Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Funeral services were at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 2, 2012 at the funeral home. Mr. Gene Burch officiated. Burial was in the Wellsville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Jimmy Burch, Brian Christian, Bryant Christian, Steve Craven, Daniel Hager and Colby Pitzer. Honorary pallbearers were Jacob Christian, Brian "Shorty" Davis, Tommy Maggard and Shaft Yelton. Damon was born August 27, 1972, in Columbia, Missouri, a son of Larry Junior and Alice Faye Browning Sheets. He had lived in the Wellsville area all of his life. Damon had been employed at Home Decorators in Mexico, loading trucks. Damon was an avid race fan. He enjoyed driving race cars and loved going to races. He also liked to hunt. Damon is survived by his four children, Brent Damon Lee Sheets, of Wellsville, Joshlynn Maycock, of Montgomery City, Brett Beasly, of Mexico and Ashton Dwayne Sheets, of Wellsville; mother, Alice Faye Coffelt, of Ardmore, Oklahoma; sisters and brother-in-law, Crystal Gaye Christian, of Mexico, Mindy Kay Christian and Thomas Maggard, of Wellsville and Chere' Amanda and James Appleton, of Ardmore, Oklahoma; grandmother, Emma Elizabeth Burts, of Farber; uncles and aunts, Donald Browning, of Wellsville, Sylvia Young, of Wellsville, Susie Browning and Virginia Morgan, both of Laddonia, Betty and Don Monnig, of Pacific, Jerry Cullom, of Warrenton, Della Browning, of Farber, Carolyn Burts, of Zachary, Louisiana, Shirley Haley, of Biloxi, Mississippi, Vivian "Annie" Stuart, Ava and Billy Morris and Linda and Alvin Chalfant, all of Wellsville; in addition to several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Junior Sheets; brother, Darren Dwayne Sheets; grandparents, Marion Louis Burts, Sr., Elmer Otto and Della Marie Sheets and Phyllis Sheets; in addition to several aunts and uncles.
