Mary Jane Rachel (Gray) Grady was born in England to Thomas Gray and Elizabeth Granger. She married John Grady 23 Oct 1827 in the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, Boston. About 1835, the family moved to Brooklyn NY.
They had seven children: Mary Cecelia - married William Harris, Mary Theresa, John David William - married Elizabeth Martha Wingham, Joseph Benedict Fenwick -married Frances Augusta Benedict, Charles Ignatius - married Agnes Hamilton Servoss, Mary Elizabeth, and Maria Jane.

GRADY--On Wednesday, at the residence of her son, Orange Mountain, N. J., Mrs. M. J. R. GRADY, in the 74th year of her age. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from her son's residence, J. D. W. Grady, No. 67 Schenectady av. Brooklyn, on Saturday afternoon, the 10th inst., at 2 o'clock.
