Funeral rites for Peter Anderson Yelverton, 70, who died at his home in Magee, Saturday, were held from Sharon Presbyterian Church Sunday with Rev. W. H. Mcintosh of Hattiesburg and Rev. W. H. Hall of Jackson and Rev. Eugene Reed, his pastor, officiating.

Mr. Yelverton, the son of the late Mr. Jim and Mrs. Sarah Kennedy Yelverton, a pioneer family of this community, was a prominent farmer of this section and a former merchant of Magee and a member of the Magee Presbyterian Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Dora Yelverton, four sons, Millard, Clera, Carl, Jewell of Magee; P. A. Yelverton, Starkville; and two daughters, Mrs. Walter McCallum, and Mrs. Wilton Lang, Magee; one brother, Jesse O. Yelverton, Auburn, Wash.; and three sisters, Mrs. Ola Kennedy, Magee; Mrs. Annie Tedder, Sumrall; and Mrs. Delia Pickering, Mendenhall.

Interment was in the Sharon cemetery with Mims Mitchell Funeral Home In charge. Active pall bearers: Albert Glisson, Wayne Mangum, Gavan Stringer, Daniel White, Heber Kennedy, Marlon White, James Yelverton. Honorary pall bearers: Ed Ware, O. J. Big-lane, A. W. McRaney, Eugie Walker, Duncan Watklns, J. O. Steele, and Alvin Overby.
