J.S. Yarborough, 47, Stonewall County rancher died in an Abilene sanitarium from an illness which resulted from an infection of the right hand two weeks ago. Mr. Yarborough's right thumb was almost severed when a horse, which he was leading behind a wagon on his ranch, pulled back. Although the treatment was given at once, infection set it, necessitating amputation of the hand. After being brought to Abilene, Mr. Yarborough's arm was amputated just below the shoulder and a blood transfusion was given. He moved to Stonewall County in 1916 and was engaged in farming and ranching. He owned a ranch between Rotan and Jayton with his postoffice being at Jayton. Survived by his wife; eight sons - Jim, L.H., Welton, Oran, Clyde, Leon, Jack and Sammy Joe Yarborough; three daughters - Mrs. V.S. Senn, Miss Lura Yarborough, Miss Burl Yarborough; one brother - J.W. Yarborough; two sisters - Lucy Yearby, Mrs. M.C. Wallace.
