Alfred was probably the son of Simon Elisha John Kimberly and Margaret Woddard who immigrated to Leeds County, Ontario in the early 1800s.
He had a lease on Lot 23 Con 2 S.Burgess Twp. (E-mail from Myrtle Johnson who searched land records.) Perth Courier Ap 24 1903, (CP Herald): d." At CP Ap 15 Alfred Kimberley 72 years 6 mos. B Newboro, Leeds Co. Oct 26, 1830, son of late Simon Kimberly M.1856, Jane, d. of late Joseph Castle of same place." Moved to Glen Tay. Buried in Old Methodist Cemetery, Perth. One stone for Alfred, wife Jane and their daughter Ettie. Monument knocked down (1998?). Could easily be re-erected. Small red maple tree on corner of fenced plot.
