Clara Bonnie Freeman, "Clara B." to family and friends, rejoined the love of her life and husband Fred Allen Freeman on May 17, 2013, ten days after reaching her 96th birthday, which she celebrated with family and friends at Crane Nursing and Rehab Center. She was married to Fred 54 years before losing him in 1990. Clara was born in San Angelo, Texas on May 7, 1917, and was raised with her sister, Minnie, by her mother Francis Deal after losing their father, Edgar Deal when Clara was eight-years-old. Clara loved gardening, traveling, playing her piano, and dancing. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in San Angelo, Texas. Clara is survived by two sons, Robert S. Freeman with wife Melba, and James D. Freeman with wife Billie Jo. She has two granddaughters, Karen M. Freeman, and Robbie Jo Morris with husband Michael; and two great-grandchildren, Rylie Jo Morris and Staton Morris. Clara will be buried in Mertzon, Texas beside Fred. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, in Mertzon Cemetery with C.E. Packer officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
