Herman Sporing was born December 18, 1866, at Vilsen, Germany. In the year 1871,he came to America with his parents and settled near Bellvue, Iowa. Most of his life, however, was spent in Thayer County. The last number of years, he was an inmate of the State institution at Hastings and died there Sept. 28, having reached the age of 86 years, 9 months and 10 days.
Surviving him are one sister, Mrs. Barnie Edens of Downey, Cal.; and three brothers, Dick of Stamford, Nebr., Henry of Hebron, Nebr., and Cunnie of Brewster, Kans.
The funeral was held Oct. 2.
