John Joshua Kelly is the son of John and Contentha Colby Kelly. Joshua married Mary Brackett Heath on Jan 17, 1838 in Conway, Carroll, NH. He was better known as Joshua, on his marriage record to Mary, he was referred to as Joshua, in the 1850 Census, he was called Joshua, in the 1860 Census he was called John, in the 1870 and 1880 Census, he was called Joshua again. There is also a conflict concerning his age, on the headstone it states that he was 65 when he died, in the 1880 census it states that he is 69.
Since his father was John probably to lessen the confusion in the home, he was called Joshua.
