David Henry Foster was the son of Robert Foster of Cavan County, Ireland, and Eliza Blackstock of Cavan, Ontario, Canada. David Henry had one sister, Elizabeth Jane Foster, and seven brothers:
George Warren Foster, William Hamilton Foster, Francis Albert Foster, Josiah Howard Foster, Robert James Foster, Wilbert Enis Foster, and Samuel Blackstock Foster.

In the 1901 census for Southampton, Ontario :
Among the staff and guests was Phoebe Baker- a sister to Annie Baker. She was a Domestic. David H. Foster was the "Hotel Keeper".

According to the "The United Mercantile Agency, Ingersoll, Ontario:Business Directory for 1910":

Foster, D.H., Hotel at Paisley, Ontario.

David's burial date was 17 August 1921.
He died of stomach and gallbladder cancer.
David Foster was interred in Mountain View Cemetery on Aug. 17, 1921.
F. Coleman purchased the burial plot in 1921, for David and Annie Foster.
