Mortimer J Galvin, Jr was born in Waterbury, Ct. He was the only son of Mortimer and Margaret Galvin and the brother of Gertrude, Margaret and Isabel. He attended Sacred Heart Grammer Heart School and Crosby High School and was a graduate of Boston University Law School. He opened his first clothing store on East Main Street and became associated on Bank Street at the Galvin-Sampson Clothiers. Later, he owned the Tux Shop until his retirement, due to illness. He was active in the Republican Party for many years. Mr Galvin was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Irish-American Club. (Waterbury Republican; December 8, 1979)
