Dorothy and Robert Pape

Robert "Bob" Leo Pape and Dorothy "Dottie" Rose Pape left this world together on Monday May 10th 2013 in Fernley Nevada. They were both 84 years old.

Robert was born on March 6th 1929 in Spokane, Washington and Dorothy was born on March 25th 1929 in San Francisco, California. Bob and Dottie met and fell in love and were happily married for 60 years.

They were long time residents of Nevada, living most of the lives on Mt Rose Highway and later in life retired, moving to Fernley Nevada, where they lived for the last 15 years. Bob was an Army Veteran who served in Korea and WWII. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and working in the yard. Dottie enjoyed collecting Christmas décor, going to garage sales, and meeting and talking to new people.

They are survived by their only child Robert William Pape (Terry). Granddaughter, Tanya Marie Szabo (Matt), Grandson, Robert Charles Pape (Kate), and Great grandchildren.

They were two friendly, loving people who family and friends will forever miss and never forget.

Services will be held on Tues, May 21st at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nevada, with Military Honors for Robert.

A very horrific end to their life. This extra info was sent to me 6/18/2018 by contributor Ms. Clyde #46994776 (which it did also hit the local news when it happened):
Mr. & Mrs. Pape were murder victims. There is an episode of "Murder by Numbers" on Investigation Discovery (ID) TV "Murder Calling" (2017) documenting their life, and final days. "When firefighters are called to a blazing truck, what they find in the house pales in comparison: the bullet-ridden bodies of Robert and Dorothy Pape. And the heat turns up when police realize the extinguished truck belongs to someone else."
