Born January 13, 1937 in Hampton County he was the son of the late Tanzle Barnes and Carrie Kling Barnes.
Mr. Barnes served his country in the United States Army and later worked as a Carpenter and enjoyed farming.
He was a Mason and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include five brothers: Wesley and L. J. Barnes both of Dulac, LA, Alfred Barnes of Augusta, GA, Bernard Barnes of Raeford, NC and Tanzle Barnes, Jr. of Early Branch, SC, four sisters: Adell Bishop Gray of Varnville, SC, Rosemary Sullivan of FL, Sheryl DeLoach of Varnville, SC, and Karen Barnes of Early Branch, SC.
A graveside funeral service will be held May 21, 2013 at 2 P.M. in the Deep Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
