Kevin Lee McKee, age 58, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in the loving community of Woodland. Kevin's strong will to live, his faith, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried him through a long battle with cancer. Yet even throughout his struggle, his humor never wavered. Kevin was born in Boise, Idaho, to Barbara Quick and Vaun McKee on April 21, 1954. He was a US Navy veteran (1972-1980) and earned the National Defense Service Medal and Joint Service Commendation Medal.
Kevin has been in the restaurant business for over 20 years. For the past 10 years Kevin has served as a general manager for Denny's in his hometown of Woodland. In addition to his incredible work ethic, Kevin had a great passion for genealogy, researching for many years his McKee heritage and shared his passion on his site http://www.kevinmckee.org/
Kevin is survived by his brothers Michael and Patrick Neigg; son Bryan McKee; daughters Kelly Zajfen and Sarah Dupriest; granddaughters Madison and Courtney McKee and Lily McKee Zajfen; grandsons George Zajfen and Henry James Dupriest. He was preceded in death by his parents Barbara Quick and Vaun McKee; brothers Steven and Richard McKee; and his sister Debbie Moen.
Service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon. Please dress casual.
