Born in Akron on December 10, 1940, he was a life resident of the area.
Larry was employed as a mechanical engineer with Goodrich, Bellows-Valvair, Hoover, Kirby, and Little Tikes. His hobbies included building and flying model airplanes; watching Indy Car and Formula One Racing; and working as a crew chief for Galati Racing.
Larry also took pride in woodworking and building things, and enjoyed fishing trips with his father. He was a member of SCCA, Corsair Model Aircraft Club, and Hudson Community Chapel.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph J. and Vivian Dick; sister, Yvonne Marie and beloved cats. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce; sons, Ronald L. (Shari) and Jeffery C.; daughters, Barbara Craig (David) and Judy Vidmar (David); grandchildren, Casey, Cody, Sarah, Elizabeth and Jonathan; brother, Joseph T. Dick; and sister, Joyce M. Sweeney (Gerald).
Funeral service will be Monday, 1 p.m. at HOPKINS LAWVER FUNERAL HOME, 547 CANTON ROAD, AKRON, OHIO 44312 with Pastor Jim Colledge officiating.
