Martha Rebecca Barrow, 49, of Aledo, TX, passed away on 10/13/2011. She was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh W. Barrow of Carrollton. Rebecca is survived by her husband, John Owen Ambler, her stepdaughter, Juliette, both of Aledo, TX, her sister and best friend, Ann Barrow Harris of Atlanta, her brothers, Dr. Hugh W. Barrow, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC and Lew S. Barrow of Columbus, GA. Rebecca is also survived by her three nephews, Hugh W. Barrow III, James Lewis Barrow, and Dr. William Charles Barrow, and her niece, Lori Barrow Fulmer. Rebecca also leaves behind many beloved relatives and friends.

Rebecca graduated from Dalton High School in 1980, and from Emory University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing in 1984. She earned her Master of Science degree in Anesthesiology from Emory University in 1995, and was employed as an Anesthetist at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX and Northwest Anesthesiology in Houston, TX.

Rebecca was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed studying her family's history with the help of her parents. She loved to garden and engage in all types of yard work. Her greatest passion, however, was her dedication to the elimination of homeless pets throughout the country via adoption and spay/neuter programs, and she was strong supporter of the Humane Society of the United States and Best Friends Animal Society. She was a devoted Christian.

Rebecca will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at Victory Methodist Church, Bowdon, GA, on Saturday, October 22nd, at 3:00 PM. Rainwater Funeral Home of Bowdon, GA will be coordinating the service.
