Forrest Gladwell "Frosty" Smith, 94 of Meadow Creek, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday August 24, 2010 at Summers Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at Hilldale following a long illness.

He was born at Abraham, WV on April 25, 1916, one of eight children born to Arthur and Rufina Plumley Smith.

He was a member of Meadow Creek Baptist Church where he served faithfully until leaving Meadow Creek in 2001. He was a retired custodian for the Summers County School System and was a veteran of World War II. He had lived his entire life in Summers County.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Marie Smith in 1991. Also by a step-son, Truman Eugene "Gene" Adkins. Three brothers, Theo, Clyde and Roy Smith. Two sisters, Anna Mae Cales and Margaret Bragg.

He is survived by one daughter, Mary A. Lively & husband Kaleb of Hinton. Step-son, Robert L. Buckland & wife Janice of Hinton. Two sisters, Mary Ellen Richmond of Grandview, WV and Imogene Gwinn & husband Jack of Meadow Bridge. Two granddaughters, Jennifer L. Pack & husband Dale of Cool Ridge and Kristen Koenig & husband Karl of Sandstone. One grandson, Bradley Luckton of Hinton. Two great grandsons and five great grandchildren Two step-grandchildren; Kelsie and Jacob Lively.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday August 27, 2010 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be; Dale Pack, Karl Koenig, Franklin Bowles, Eugene Holland, Eugene Jones and Tom Scott
