Mrs. Allen, 52, died July 8, 2001, at her residence. She was born in Carthage on July 23, 1948, to John Robert Hinds and Mary Jane Gunn.
She was disabled.
She was a member of Beulah Chapel.
Preceding her in death were his parents; her husband, Marcell Allen; and four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia and Ruel Hawkins, Jennifer and Vodrick Carter, and Roshelle Allen, all of Killeen, Texas, Janice and Leonard Townsend of Brookhaven, Rebecca and James Crushshon of Minneapolis, Minn., and Deborah and Carl Carter of Wesson; her brothers, Willie Lee Gunn of Jackson, Lonnie Lee Gunn of Forest and Jimmy Hall of Carthage; her sisters, Doretha Thigpen of Chicago and Dorothy Thomas of Canton; and 13 grandchildren.
