Funeral services for Brantley David Jamison, 77, of Blackville, SC will be held two p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Healing Springs Baptist Church with burial in the Jamison Family Cemetery, Hwy. 3, Blackville, SC. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m., Friday, May 17th at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC. Memorial contributions may be sent in Mr. Jamison's memory to Healing Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 285 Gardner Road, Blackville, SC 29817. Mr. Jamison passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013.

Born June 29, 1935 in Barnwell County, he was a son of the late Carl Fletcher Jamison and Mary Carroll Jamison. He played football for Blackville High School and graduated in 1954. After finishing high school he worked as a logger before joining his father on the family farm in Blackville. Mr. Jamison enjoyed a successful farming career throughout Barnwell, Orangeburg and Allendale Counties and over the years he also expanded his farming operations into cattle farming and a hog parlor. His children and grandchildren enjoyed working with him on the family farm. Mr. Jamison ran his family business until his death on May 14, 2013. He loved the outdoors and particularly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends on the farm. He also enjoyed cooking for his annual Fourth of July Bar-be-que which he held at his home for the past 40 years. Mr. Jamison was an active member of Healing Springs Baptist Church and served in the National Guard.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jeanette Handberry Jamison; daughter, Theresa Jamison (Curtis) Dowling of Columbia; sons, David Oliver Jamison, Michael (Mary Anne) Jamison, Troy Oneal (Sarah) Jamison all of Blackville; grandchildren, Ashley Dowling (Brandon) Miller, Curtis Wayne (Taylor) Dowling, Jr., Stephen Jamison Dowling, David Nic Jamison, Mary Beth Jamison, Megan Jamison (Colin) Ashe, Mike David Jamison, Leigh Ann Schrock, Bradley Oneal Jamison and Trenton Ray Jamison; great grandchildren, Eason Riley Miller, Ava Rae Miller, Jenah Renae Ashe and Weston Lane Ashe; sister, Margie J. (David) Horner of Columbia and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters and brothers.
