Ethel Irene Voss
VOSS -- Ethel I., 88 yrs., Omaha, NE. 9/10/99. Born Washington Township, near Lewis, Cass Co., IA, 1/20/11. Daughter of Carl Ludwig and Elizabeth Armstrong Voss. Moved with parents to Walnut, IA, area, graduating high school in 1929. Attended Simpson College in Indianola, IA, and Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, IA, graduating in 1937 with a B.A. degree. Taught 10 years in Iowa school systems. Joined WW II efforts in 1942, working with Glenn L. Martin Co., Ft. Crook, NE, until 1945. Worked for Union Pacific RR Headquarters Accounting Dept., retiring after 30 years. Was a tax counselor for elderly citizens for 10 years. Member, First Presbyterian Church, Omaha, AARP, Railway Businesswomen's Club, and other clubs and church activities. Hobbies included reading and sewing. Survived by brothers, Roy C. Voss and wife Helen, and Lloyd E. Voss, Omaha; sister, Lorene M. and husband, Eldon Cozad, Omaha; nieces, nephews and many friends. Preceded by parents, two sisters, Pearl E. Dillehay and Hazel L. Rudy.
SERVICES 10:30 a.m., Tues., Farnam Chapel. GRAVESIDE SERVICE 2 p.m., Tues., Atlantic, IA, Cemetery. VISITATION 2-5 p.m., Sun., 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Mon. Memorials to donors's choice.
