STAYTON — Maurice Shelton, 84, died Monday.

He was born in Scio and served in the Navy during World War II. He was a bank executive with First National Bank of Oregon from 1937 to 1977. He was on the advisory board of Bend Memorial Senior High School and Bend city budget, president of the Central Oregon Hospital Association and was Bend Senior Citizen in 1963. He lived and worked in Roseburg from 1970 to 1977. He was active in many civic organizations and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Germaine, whom he married in 1939; sons, David of Gresham and Douglas of Alamo, Calif.; daughter, Kathryn Fruhwirth of Silverton; brothers, Rex of Salem and Todd of Corvallis; sister, Betty Sattley of Stayton; and four grandchildren.

Rosary will be 7:30 p.m. tonight at Weddle Funeral Home. Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where he was a member. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Contributions: National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
