VIDALIA, La. - Services for Charles Lindberg Dew, 76, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Vidalia with the Rev. Hershel Waller and the Rev. Dan Glenn officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Home Vidalia.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was a Civil Engineer and was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co. after 36 years of service. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church Vidalia and served in the U.S. Air Force in the National First Computations Technical Squadron. Mr. Dew was on the Board of Trustee with the Concordia Parish Fire Distict 2. He was an honorary Sheriff Deputy and a member of Regional Homeland Security.
Mr. Dew was preceded in death by his father, Clarence L. Dew and his mother, Georgia T. Dew.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Dew of Vidalia; two sons, Charles L. Dew Jr. of Vidalia and James D. Dew of Metairie, La.; two daughters, Charolette and husband, Rudy Rivera of Vidalia and Gayle and husband, William Hathcox of Natchez; three brothers, Walter J. Dew of Rayville, La., Billy Dew of Gilbert, La. and Jimmy Dew of Rayville; sister, Bobbie Faye Clark of Farmerville, La.; granddaughters, Jessica Dew, Anna Rozell and Rayna Hathcox; grandsons, Jeremy Dew, Jordan Dew, Alex Rivera, Adriel Rivera and Daniel Rivera; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be members of the Concordia Parish Fire District 2.
Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Board of Trustees of the Fire Dept.
