Mr. Kilby was a retired staff sargeant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, having served in the Vietnam War.
He was a lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Steed College, where he was a member of Theta Pi. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was preceded in death by his father, E.E. Kilby.
Survivors include his widow, Jackie Gentry Kilby, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Lisa Carver, Johnson City, and Robin Kilby, of the home; his mother, Mrs. Blanche Estep Kilby, Johnson City; six brothers, Vernon, Darwin, David, Ronnie and Larry Kilby, all of Johnson City, and Bob Kilby, Virginia; three sisters, Mrs. Eileen Rose, Mrs. Jewel Clawson and Mrs. Carolyn Hodge, all of Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews.
