A devoted wife, mother and church worker passed to her reward in the death of Mrs. McCoy. She is survived by her husband, John Craig McCoy, six sons and one daughter, as follows: Dr. Ira Deane McCoy, of Cass City, Michigan; Craig L. , Joseph J., John C., JR, Frank E., Eugene G. and Mary Lucille all of Scrubgrass Township. Also by one brother Dr. E. H. Sloane of Ben Avon and one sister, Mrs. John Ginniff of Cambridge Springs.
The funeral services were held at the family home near Emlenton on July 24 and were conducted by Reverend Witherspoon and Reverend Sauerbrun, former pastors of the church, and Reverend Sprague, the present pastor, each of whom made and address in which he spoke of the home and and church life of Mrs. McCoy. The funeral was very largely attended by relatives, friends and neighbors showing the high esteem in which the decease and her family were held. The remains were laid to rest in the Craig--McCoy lot, one of the beauty spots of the serction, with the six sons acting as pall bearers.
The Craig family were the first to locate in Scrubgrass Township, about the year 1795.
