Jerry Wilcox, beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, died peacefully surrounded by family on May 14, 2013 at the age of 96. She was born May 28, 1916 in Bulcher, TX and graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a master's degree in English Literature. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kim Wilcox, sister, Wynzola Gibson, twin brother, Joe (Son) Mitchell, and beloved niece, Libby Tanner. She is survived by sons, Terry and wife, Peggy Wilcox of Rowlett, Tx., Carl and wife, Patsy Wilcox of Greenville, Tx.; granddaughter, Michelle and husband, James Kendrick of Dallas, Tx.; grandson, Cale Wilcox of Richardson, TX .; niece, Jerry Lou and husband, Fred Coates of Terrell, Tx. Jerry was a life time member of the Farmers Branch Historical Preservation and Restoration Board where she served as chairperson and will be remembered for her devotion and dedication. She was elected Farmers Branch Woman of the Year in 1992. She was also a member of the Farmers Branch Women's Club and the Antique Book Club. Visitation will be Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the North Dallas Funeral Home, 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Graveside services will be at DFW National Cemetery, May 21, 2013 at 1:15 pm, Lane B.
