George E. Lehrling, 78, of Bradley, died today (April 20, 1998), following a long illness.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Oak Grove Cemetery, Grayville, Ill., with the Rev. Dr. Michael Sanders officiating.
Memorials may be made to Special Olympics, Area 22 Southeastern Illinois, P.O. Box E, Hood Center, Norris City, Ill., 62869.
The Bradley Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
He was born Nov. 14, 1919, in Ottawa, the son of George E. and Geneva Fraiken Lehrling.

Surviving are his wife, the former Pat Bullard, whom he married Nov. 23, 1973, in Grayville; one daughter, Susan Sammis of Bloomington, Ind.; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and John (Bud) Gulbronson of Ottawa; one grandson, Dylan Sammis of Bloomington, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lehrling was a vocational instructor at Kankakee Area Career Center, retiring in 1989. He was employed by Olin in Covington, Ind.
Mr. Lehrling served in the U.S. Navy from May 1938 to June 1946, during World War II.
He was a member of Grace Community United Methodist Church.
His hobby was photography
