MRS. MYRTLE CLARK NAPIER, 88, of Wayne, W.Va., fell asleep in Jesus' arms Sunday, June 27, 2004, in Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, by Elders Roger Maynard and Ivory Williamson. Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens, Wayne. She was born November 29, 1915, in Kiahsville, W.Va., a daughter of the late John and Tennessee Smith Clark. She was a homemaker and faithful member of the Salem United Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Napier; a grandson, Keith Thompson; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Napier; a son-in-law, Hobert Smith; two sisters, Hester Maynard and Louise Shekel; and three brothers, Sam, Lafe and Johnny Clark. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Herbert and Sally Napier and Clayton and Delcie Napier, all of Lavalette, W.Va.; five daughters and sons-in-law, Frankie and Mitchell Smith of Huntington, Mildred and Frank Wallace and Easter and Sam Thompson, all of Lavalette, and Darlene and Jakie Wallace and Margie and John Allen, all of Wayne; two sisters, Sadie Lycans and Bertha Pinnell, both of Huntington; seven grandsons, Stanley Smith of Charleston, W.Va., Joe Smith and wife Cindy and Bill Wallace and wife Jill, all of Wayne, Dwayne Thompson and David Wallace of Lavalette, Nick Allen of Huntington and Brian Thompson of Lexington, Ky.; five granddaughters, Sue Scott and husband Jack of California, Ky., Beverly Browning and husband Ric of Wayne, Brenda Maddox and husband Jeff of Buffalo Creek Road, Gina Ferguson and husband Steve of El Paso, Texas, and Tanya Napier of Huntington; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister-in-law, Fannie Smith and a brother-in-law, Edgar Clark, both of Wayne; several nieces, nephews and a host of church family; and several special caregivers. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
