David Gross, age 90 years, died on Monday. May 1, 2011 in the Dresher Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center, Dresher, PA. Mr. Gross, who was formerly of Norristown, and Wallingford, PA worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad that later became Penn Central and most recently Conrail for over 35 years as a dispatcher before he retired. David was born in Norristown on March 20, 1921 a son to the late Harry and Mamie (Corson) Gross. He graduated from Norristown High School, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Norristown, a member of Charity Lodge #190 F & AM for 50 years, Scottish Rite Valley of Allentown and a Tyler for Community Lodge 744 F & AM. His 3 nieces Martha G. Mitchell and her husband Donald Mitchell of Ft. Myers, FL., Georgia G. Horrocks and her husband Charles Horrocks of Columbia, SC., and Elisabeth Gregory of Devon, PA and his 2 nephews Winfield Gross and Milton Gross survive David. His 13 grand nieces and nephews also survive him. His 3 brothers Harry Gross, Beeber Gross, and George LaRue "Larry" Gross all of Norristown also preceded him in death. Relatives and friends are invited to share in David's "Life Celebration" on Wednesday, May 11, 2011at 10:00 AM at the Boyd-Horrox Funeral Home of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, (1-800-GIVNISH). Masonic Lodge services will be conducted by Charity Lodge at 10:45 AM and his funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Paul E. Toms, III, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Norristown officiating. Burial will be in the Jeffersonville Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 1921 West Main Street, Norristown, PA 19403
