Born in Marblehead, Nov. 25 [sic?], 1905, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Louise (Henkel) Rice. Mrs. Lombard graduated with honors from Marblehead High School, Class of 1924, and worked at the Marblehead Junior High School as a secretary for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Lombard was involved for many years with the Coast Guard Auxiliary, in which she spent her Saturdays at the Custom House in Salem. She also was a longtime member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Marblehead, where she was active with the church's Parish Aid.
Mrs. Lombard loved animals, and throughout her life, she always enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels. She also enjoyed horseback riding and ballroom dancing.
She is survived by her sister, Lillian Pernokas of Beverly; her cousins, Barbara and Ralph Hefler and Frederick Sullivan, all of Marblehead; and many friends.
