Margaret Anna Tamlyn 77 of St.Ignace passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 24 at her home surrounded b y her family after a 3 year battle with cancer. She was born September 10,1935 in Hessel to Bernard and Jennie(Iverson) Fenlon. She graduated from Cedarville High School in 1953 and married Norman "Chickie" Tamlyn on November 28,1953. they celebrated nearly 37 years of marriage as he died in October of 1990.

She worked for Wardy and Ray Sliva at the Ben Franklin store for 20 years; The Deer Ranch for Harold and Sally Kriesche for 5 years, and managed Monkey Bursiness on Mackinac Island for Dennis Sliva for the past 15 years.

She is a member of St.Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church and St. Annes Altar Society.She enjoyed traveling with her sister, Evelyn to many places, including Ireland and Hawaii. She truly loved working as store clerk and visiting with customers, and one of her saddist days was when she was unable to continue working because of her illness. She loved cooking and baking for her children and grandchildren, and friends. There was never a shortage of desserts on the kitchen counter.

She is survived by her children; Norm and Mary Tamlyn, Petoskey; Don and Kathleen Tamlyn, Jake tamlyn and Sandy and Brian Snyder, all St.Ignace; Susan Wells, Fowlerville; and Steve Tamlyn and Jo Gareau of Cheboygan. Eight Grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her sister, Evelyn Meehan, St.Ignace and Florida; sister in law, June Fenlon of Texas and her cat, Snips, and many nieces and nephews. In addidtion to her husband and parents she was preceeded in death by 2 sisters, Catherine Fenlon and Ruth Leach; A brother Edward Fenlon, brothers in law, Harry Meehan and John Leach; grandson, Seth Tamlyn and grandson in law, John Paul Brown.

Friends may call at Dodson Funeral Home on Friday, April 26 from 4 to 7 pm. Parish prayers will be at 7 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday, April 27 at 11 am at St.Ignatius Church with Fr. Pawel Mecwel officiating. Burial will be in Gros Cap Cemetery later in the spring. A luncheon will follow Mass. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren; Lauren Brown; Landon Snyder, Sarah and Nathan Tamlyn; Tonya Wells and Jennifer Hoolsema. Memorials may be directed to St.Annes Altar Society or Mackinac Straits Hospital Oncology Department, with envelopes available from Dodson Funeral Home St.Ignace..
