Funeral services celebrating the life of Bobby Gerald Bryant, Sr. will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Verda Baptist Church with Reverend Carl Gulde and Reverend Braden Martin officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Colfax under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.
The family requests that visitation be observed at the church Tuesday, March 10, 2020 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Chelette, Kenneth Dean, Johnny Antee, David Jackson, Steve Jackson, and James Hernandez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Morris Smith, Donnie Gunter, and Vergil Williams.
Mr. Bryant, 79, of Montgomery, passed from this life on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
Mr. Bryant was an active member of Verda Baptist Church. He was a welder by trade and was the owner and operator of Bea’s Grocery, Montgomery. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and he was an avid sportsman loving basketball and football. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud Bryant and Beatrice Hale Vercher; sisters, JoAnn Futrell, Beatrice Murrell, and Bernice Craig.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years, Bessie Chelette Bryant; sons, Jim Richard Bryant, and Bobby Gerald Bryant, Jr. and wife, Connie; daughters, Mary Atchison and husband, Bob, and Angie Johnson and husband, Keith; brother, Jimmy Bryant and wife, Diane; four grandchildren, Lindsey Eddins and husband, Alan, Connor Whiteside and wife, Jaiden, Shonda Lambert and husband, Derek, and Cody Bryant and wife, Dana; six great grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.
