Vernon S. Baker, age 69, of Lynchburg, TN, formerly of Fayetteville, TN, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Spokane, WA on May 1, 1944 to the late David S. & Ella Hathaway Baker. He was employed as an auto mechanic, was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Lea Baker, sister, Carol Betz, and brothers-in-law, Ray Holt and Ed Betz. Mr. Baker is survived by wife, Alexa Edde Baker of Lynchburg, TN, daughters, Benita & Brian Moyers of Meridianville, AL, Bonnie & Tommy Boyett of Lynchburg, TN, sisters, Catherine & Cliff Truman of Florida, Sharon Holt of Salem, OR, brother, Wendell & Kathleen Baker of Oregon City, OR, grandchildren, Kayla Moyers, Hannah Moyers, Nathan Houser, Katie Houser, Kole Boyett and Jacob Boyett. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Clardy officiating. Burial will follow in Lynchburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
