Alexander McEachern was the son of John McEachern and Catherine Gillis.

He was born in Antigonish, NS and christened at St. Margaret of Scotland, Arisaig, Antigonish.

Alexander was married to Mary Canady on the 16th of April 1871 in Truro and the couple were blessed with seven children:

Annie b. 1873
John b. 1874
Elizabeth b.1875
William b. 1877
Alexander b. 1880
Mary b. 1881
Archibald b. 1886

Sadly all but two sons died in infancy and neither son was ever married.

During his lifetime he worked as a machinist. He death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage.

Alexander was buried in Robie Street cemetery (6th of February 1924) with his family.
