The body of Rev. Henry Crocker,
Civil war veteran and a graduate of
Brown University in the classs of 1876,
was buried in Riverside cemetery here
at 10 o'clock this morning. Mr. Crock-
er died last Saturday, at his home in
Mr Crocker was born in Brewster,
Mass., in 1845, the son of Isaac Crock-
er and Sally Crosby (Foster) Crocker.
He received his college preparatory
training at the university grammar
school, Providence, but enlisted as a
private in Co. H, 9th R.I. Volunteers,
and served his country in Virginia
before continuing his higher educa-
After the war, and after graduating
from Brown and later the Newton
Theological Seminary, Mr. Crocker
held pastorates in Damariscotta, Me.,
in Bristol, and in Fairfax and Chester,
Mr. Crocker is survived by Lawton
V. Crocker, Brown '12, and Henry F.
Crocker of Chester, Vt.,
