He is survived by former spouse, Helen Thornton of Keizer; their daughters, Eileen Nelson of Camdenton, Mo., Linda Hulsey of Modesto, California and Karen Andrews of Clovis, California; sons-in-law, David Nelson and Bob Andrews; daughters, Cheryl Brown of West Linn and Keithanne Boeve of Wallowa Lake; sons, Ric Crone of Fair Oaks, California, Dr. David Hastings of Antioch, California and Ed Hastings of Lebanon, Oregon; daughters-in-law, Nina Crone, Annette Hastings and Lisa Hastings; 10 grandsons; 13 granddaughters; 7 great-grandsons; 14 great-granddaughters and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
During World War II he was a paratrooper in the Army, taken as a POW and held in Germany.
