Eleanor M. "Pat" Lawson, (Widow of Robert), Fruitland Twp. Mrs. Eleanor M. "Pat" Lawson, age 80, went to be with her beloved husband Robert, who preceded her in death in 1995. They were married on November 27, 1948. Mrs. Lawson was born Eleanor Lemieux to Moses and Mary Lemieux in Coopersville on April 10, 1926. She graduated in 1946 from the Mercy School of Nursing and worked for Dr. Lauretti before raising her family. She later worked and retired from the Muskegon Heights School System as a school nurse. Eleanor and Robert lived in Norton Shores for many years before moving to Whitehall in 1989. Eleanor was an active member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, where many special friendships were treasured. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing and attending her grandchildren's baseball games. SURVIVORS include two daughters, Mari (James) Lane of Fruitport, Diane (Shawn) Arnold of Holland; two grandchildren, Mark (Amanda) Lane of Rockford, Kelly Lane of Fruitport; and a brother, Lewis (Mary) Lemieux. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Marge Zimmer; and brothers, Carl Lemieux, Kenneth Lemieux, Clifford Lemieux, and James Lemieux. THE MEMORIAL MASS was celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Norman Droski presiding. VISITATION was 6-8 PM Tuesday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210 with a Prayer Vigil at 7:30 PM. MEMORIALS to Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
