Funeral services for Carl "Leo" Bryant, Sr., 90, of Rayville, LA were held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rayville, LA with Father Phillip Pazhayakari officiating. Interment was in the St. Paul Cemetery in Elton, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.

Mr. Leo was born December 19, 1922 in Rayville, LA and passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in Rayville after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Leo was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rayville. He worked with the Postal Service in Rayville for many years starting in 1946. Mr. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Addie Dickens Bryant and his brother, Marvin Bryant.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Ilva Bryant of Rayville; sons, Carl Bryant, Jr. and wife, Brenda of Rayville, LA and Franklin Odel Bryant and wife, Celeste of Natchitoches, LA; grandchildren, Jeni Mercer and husband, Cole of Mont Belvieu, TX, Bridget Verret and husband, Yves of Shreveport, LA, Carl Bryant, III and wife, Maggie of Winnfield, LA, Catherine Whittington of Natchitoches, Donna Cooper and husband, Chris of Shreveport, LA, and Rebecca Bates and husband, Trevor of Pensacola, FL; 10-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Carl Bryant, III, Chris Cooper, Cole Mercer, Yves Verret, Trevor Bates, and Phillip Todd Bertrand.
