Ray Leonard Gossett Sr., 76, husband of the late Sally May Johnson Gossett, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 16, 2013.

Mr. Gossett was born May 4, 1937 in Clinton to the late George Washington Gossett Sr. and Virginia Lee Quinn Gossett. He retired from Clinton Mill Plant 2 and was a member of the Clinton Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and a huge fan of the Braves and Gamecocks.

Surviving are a son, Ray Gossett Jr. and wife Dixie; three daughters, Ruthie Taylor, Carolyn Messick and husband Terry Sr., and Melinda Todd and husband Steve; a brother, Aaron Gossett and wife Ann; a sister, Retha Mae Eustace; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers; a sister; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Clinton Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church, followed by burial in Pine Lawn Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the Clinton Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church, 1019 N. Sloan Street, Clinton, SC 29325.

The family will receive friends at the home-205 Beauregard Street in Clinton-on Friday and Saturday.
