Dennis married Joan Taie on August 8, 1956, in Gatzke, MN. They moved to Minneapolis, and later to Coon Rapids. Dennis was employed as a pressman at Augsburg Publishing House for 11 years. They moved to Roseau, MN in May of 1968. He worked for Polaris Industries as a pressman and later was promoted to manager of the print shop. In May of 1983, Dennis opened his own print shop, Quality Printing. He later expanded his business to include office products. He retired in 1998. Quality Printing and Multi-Office Products are still owned and operated by his family today. Dennis was also an active member of the Moe Lutheran Church.
Dennis was a very active grandpa. He loved more than anything to watch his grandkids in any of their activities. He followed them in school, sports, dance, music, and in church. He loved his kids and grandkids deeply and in turn they loved and respected him.
Dennis' favorite pastime was going to Slough View Deer Camp in Golden Valley. He loved to feed the chickadees and watch for deer. Dennis loved playing his Gibson guitar that he bought as a young man. He looked forward to the annual North-South Campout each year where he played for family and friends around the campfire. In later years, Dennis took up golfing. He had a great time golfing with his good friends at Oak Crest Golf Course.
Dennis passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at his home in Roseau after a two year battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones. He was 71 years old.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Myrtle; siblings, Donald and Darrold; and twins, DelRay and Claudia and step-mother, Clarice Haugen.
