"Mrs. Belva E. Stockwell, 77, of Gladstone, died Friday at the North Kansas City Memorial Hospital. She was born near Carrollton, Mo., and had lived here most of her life. She was a member of the Faubion Methodist Church. She leaves two sons, the Rev. Eugene Stockwell of Edmond, Okla., and Robert Stockwell of Little Rock, Ark.; seven daughters, Mrs. Ethel Thomas of West Plains, Mo., Mrs. Pearl Hamblen of Gladstone, Mrs. Dolores Cory of Quincy, Calif., Mrs. Lurita Silvers of Gladstone, Mrs. Frances Henneberg of Claycomo, Mrs. Eunice Morris of Excelsior Springs, and Mrs. Ruby Ashworth of Caldwell, Ia.; 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 o'clock Monday at the Newcomer Chapel in North Kansas City; burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens cemetery." The Kansas City Star, January 8, 1967
