Mary Garnet Asbury, 76, the best preacher's wife and mother anyone could have, and a loving aunt and sister, of Wheelersburg, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at home.
She was born February 28, 1937, in Lincoln County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Everett Barrett and Lillian Estepp Barrett.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Landmark Sovereign Grace Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Robert Asbury, whom she married September 11, 1954, in Wayne, West Virginia; one son, Robert Asbury, Jr., of Wheelersburg; one brother, Richard Barrett and wife Roberta, of Titusville, Florida; and a sister, Ruth Foster, of Alabama. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Pastor Tom Ross officiating, with interment at Vernon Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday beginning at 1:00 P.M.
