WINSTON-SALEM Rebekah "Becky" Ellen Hinkle Carmichael Jones Sept. 30, 1936 - Jan. 8, 2013 Rebekah "Becky" Ellen Hinkle Carmichael Jones, 76, of Winston-Salem died Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Becky was born September 30, 1936 in Winston-Salem, the daughter of the late David Raymond Hinkle, Sr. and Rebekah Byerly Hinkle. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, David Henderson Carmichael; two brothers, Stoney G. Hinkle and Daniel B. Hinkle; a niece, Laura H. DeBusk and two nephews, Fred R. Butner and David E. Butner. Becky graduated from R. J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, St. Mary's Jr. College in Raleigh and Salem College in Winston-Salem. She is survived by her daughter, Makayla E. Carmichael; a sister and brother-in-law, Marty and Bill Covington; and a brother, David R. Hinkle, Jr., all of Winston-Salem; a sister-in-law, Rita R. Hinkle of Plano, TX; two nieces, Morgan R. Hinkle of San Diego, CA and Tanya H. Bruzek (Dan) of Huntersville, NC; two nephews, Blain B. Butner (Peg) of Arlington, VA and Michael R. Hinkle (Michelle) of Cary, NC; two great nieces, Sarah T. Butner of Frederick, MD and Sarah D. Caron (Ryan) of Ottawa, Canada; a great-great niece, Aubrey Caron and great- great nephew, Tristan Caron, both of Ottawa, Canada, as well as many cousins and a special "church family". A memorial service will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem, followed by inurnment of Becky's ashes in Dalton Memorial Gardens adjacent to the church. A reception for family and friends to celebrate Becky's life will follow in the Colhoun Room at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 520 Summit Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101; Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103; The NC Eye Bank, 3900 Westpoint Blvd., Suite F, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, or to a charity of the donor's choice . Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem is serving the family.
