George W. Yoakum
George Washington Yoakum was born in April 29, 1843 in Twin Township, Ross County, Ohio to Jacob Yoakum and Martha Ann Bragg. In August, 1862, George entered into service for a period of one year. He served as a Private in Captain William S. Irwin's Company G of the 60th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. His father, Jacob, also served in the same Company. Unfortunately, the entire regiment was captured on September 15, 1862. As a result, both of them were paroled as a prisoners of war and mustered out with the Company on November 10, 1862.
George Yoakum died November 5, 1910
Husband of Mary B. Kellough.

George "Buck" Yoakum was the foreman for the Jones's farm. House still stands on Rt. 50 across from Jones Levee Rd.
